Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20, New Jersey Pay to Play, and other legislative enactments, more specifically Chapter 271 of the laws of the State of New Jersey, The Mercer County Special Services School District is seeking proposals for labor negotiation services to be provided to Mercer County Special Services School District. All proposals must be received by Mercer County Special Services School District Business Administrator/Board Secretary no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Business Office, Mercer County Special Services, Administrative Offices-2nd floor, 1020 Old Trenton Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690. MES Parent Information for January, 2012

Sensory Friendly Film – Once again, the AMC Theater on Sloan Ave in Hamilton Twp will offer a sensory friendly film. Parent Emergency Notification System -  A test of the Alert Now Parent Notification System was done December 22.  If you did not receive a call, we either have a bad phone number or you are not in he system.  Contact the school office to update your info. Lunch Status -  If your financial situation has changed, you can request another lunch application. Parking -  The parent drop off/pick up area is just for that.  If you are attending a meeting, a show or program, please do NOT park in this area. School Closed -  School is closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King’s birthday. Find Out More....

Mercer High School January 2012 News -

School is closed on January 2, for New Year’s Day.  We resume classes on Tuesday, January 3.  School will also be closed on Monday, January 16, in honor of Martin Luther King Day. The PTA/PAC meeting for this month will be held on January 11, at 7:00.  There will be a guest speaker to discuss Healthcare, Medicaid and other entitlements.  This information becomes more important as your child enters adulthood and prepares to graduate from MHS.   The evening event for this month is Winter Carnival.  It will be held on Friday January 20 from 7:00-9:00.  Make sure you write any allergies or medical concerns on the permission slip. Basketball season is in full swing. See the calendar for game schedule.  The home games include the start time.  The second marking period ends on January 26. For those of you making summer vacation plans we have set the dates for Extended School Year.  The 2012 ESY program will run from July 9 -August 10, 2012   Read More.....

Dear JFC Parents,
Happy New Year!  Several activities are planned for the month of January.  On January 11th and 12th, Hamilton Dental Associates will visit the school to present a dental program to the children.  January 19th will be Pajama Day and the students should wear their favorite pajamas to school.  We will have a music assembly for students and staff in the afternoon.  The PTA is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast for the children on January 27th.  Call or email the PTA if you would like to assist with this activity.  The PTA Executive Board will meet on Monday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m.  All are welcome to attend.  The district will be closed on Monday, January 2nd and Monday, January 16th.  This month’s parent support meeting is planned for January 11th at 10:15 a.m.  The topic will be sibling issues.  Chris Sevilla,  Principal - Read More.....

Current Initiative - Our fundraising goal for this year is to improve the level of technology throughout the district with the purchase of an iPad for each classroom.  Our Goal - Our goal is to continue to seek benefactors to help support the special needs of our students.  As a non-profit, tax exempt organization, the Mercer County Special Services School District Education Foundation provides individuals, corporations, businesses, and foundations with a consistent and accountable way to provide support to the disabled on a tax-deductible basis.               Read More....

PTA Fundraising Results - The fall fundraiser, from the “Especially for You” catalog, raised almost $2,000 for the PTA. The PTA will be using these funds to provide assemblies for the students. On Thursday, November 17th, the PTA paid for a program from the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels. The program, “Habitats in the USA,” had four separate assemblies to provide a more intimate experience. Children learned about animals and their ecosystems. Live animals included a rabbit, snake, hawk (pictured), and an armadillo. The PTA has also contracted with Jeff Blum, the Magical Songwriter, for a January 2012 performance. His performances combine music and magic. The theme of the show is self-esteem and is called “Follow Your Dreams.”.  READ MORE....
