On August 11, 2010 the Superintendent’s Advisory Council met to discuss initial planning for the strategic plan and to review the current district Mission Statement. The Council discussed the most recent Mission Statement and determined it to still be appropriate for our district.
Mercer County Special Services School District is committed to serve as a catalyst for providing innovative integrated programs and services. We serve individuals with significant disabilities as well as meeting the specialized needs of districts and agencies. Through leadership and the collaborative efforts of staff, family, sending districts and community, the district will equip individuals with the skills necessary to successfully function in their environment.
8/11/10 at 3:15 Dr. Schneider and Gail Roberts meet with Superintendent’s Advisory Council and other district members.
September: Gail Roberts meets with PAC members in each of the 4 schools to explain the process; community members identified.
Late September: meeting for all interested in participating in focus groups
---Focus groups consist of all stakeholders (Board members, administration, staff, parents, community members).
---focus groups formed, with assigned sections of plan and copies of 2000 strategic plan for review, each group determines their next meeting.
Fall 2010: focus groups meet to review previous plan, where we are now and where should we be going?
Late Fall: each focus group sends one member to Steering Committee. Committee reviews focus group work and prioritizes activities over a 5 year period.
Early winter: Strategic Plan is reviewed with focus groups and presented for Board approval.
