Dear Cappello Families,
As you know February is our shortest month. It is also a very busy month at the Cappello School. The School Board meeting will be on Tuesday, February 7th, at 5:30. Cupid’s Corner will be on February 10th & 13th. It is a small store for children to buy items for their family members for Valentine’s Day. All items are 25 cents. A flyer will be sent home before the event. We will have a fundraiser at Pizza UNO’s on Feb 13th, eat in or take out coupons will be sent home soon. Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14th, is Red Day – students should wear something red to school. School will be closed on Monday, February 20th to celebrate Presidents Day. The JFC PTA executive board meeting will be at 10:00 on Thursday, February 9th. We are always looking for new members. Please feel free to join us. The next parent support group will meet on Feb. 15th at 10:15 am. More details will be sent home before the meeting. Read Across America is the week of Feb 27 – March 2nd. This year’s theme is ABC, 1-2-3 Let’s Read. Many exciting activities are being planned for the students that week. Parents are invited to come in and read on Tuesday, Feb 28th. Your child’s teacher will coordinate a time with you.

- The phone number for the school office is 588-8485. A secretary is on duty from 8:00-4:30 each day.
- The direct line to the nurses’ office is 588-8488 or 588-8489.
- If you have a transportation problem and live in Ewing, Lawrence, Trenton, Hamilton, West Windsor, or Robbinsville call 631-2121. If you live in any other district, call the transportation coordinator for your district.
- In the event of a school delay or closing, announcements will be made via our Alert Now system. A delayed opening is 90 minutes. School begins at 11:00. If calling the school number press 9, for message. You may check the district web site at www.mercerspecialservices.org.
- If your child is absent for any reason, please call the student absence number at 890-0384. Since the answering machine will pick up, you may call this number 24 hours per day.
- The updated district web site is www.mercercountyspecialservices.com. Check it out for helpful information.
- We collect Box Tops for Education. Please send coupons to school with your child.
- We make every effort to be a peanut free district. Please do not send peanut butter or peanut products to school with your child.
